What Supplies Should Be in Your First Aid Kit?
The OSHA Medical Services and First Aid regulation, 29 CFR 1901.151 (b) in part, "requires that adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available." The words, "approved by the consulting physician" were removed from this part of the standard several years ago. So what should be in your first aid kits? Appendix A to § 1910.151 First Aid Kits (Non-Mandatory) refers to ANSI Z308.1 -1998 "Minimum Requirements for Workplace First Aid Kits." This standard was updated by ANSI in 2003, but OSHA has yet to reference it in Appendix A. These are the items you should consider to include in your first aid kits.
